Sci-fi Rockets
It's become a club tradition to have a challenge at the September meeting, so the committee has agreed on the challenge for 2012.
The challenge for 2012 is to build a rocket or spaceship from a science fiction film or TV programme.
RULES
The rules for the 2012 challenge are:
1. The spaceship must fly safely on black powder motor(s).
2. You must provide proof (stills from the film, drawings, posters etc) that the spaceship is a from a film or TV programme.
3. NO KITS. The spaceship must be scratch built.
4. The winner will be decided by a ballot of all club members at the meeting. They may choose their winner based on criteria such as style, attention to detail, difficulty of construction and flight characteristics.
5. The chairman has the casting vote if there is a draw.
HOW TO WIN
This challenge mixes the skills of scale modelling and vision. A great scale model may not win if another spaceship captures the imagination of the club members (remember Dave's Wookie rocket from 2009!). A good entry thus has to have a strong vision and be well made.
Good luck folks!
