In 2009 we had the Star Wars Competition. In 2010 the challenge is more technical. All you have to do is build and fly a monocopter on a BP motor, or motors.

The monocopter which stays airborne the longest wins the prize, which will be a rocket kit.

The rules are simple and few:

1. Flight time will be measured from first movement of the 'copter to landing, or whenever the 'copter disappears from sight
2. The monocopter must be a monocopter, i.e. it can only have one blade counterbalanced by a motor.
3. The monocopter must be powered by one or more legal BP motors.
4. It must fly safely.
The club will provide a 1/4 inc diameter 6 inch long launch rod. Members may use other rods if they wish, but this one will be available for use.

The competition will take place at the SEPTEMBER 2010 launch meeting.

Never built a Monocopter before? There are plenty of designs and ideas on the internet so start building!
