Contact FOG

This image from Google Earth gives an idea of the extent of the fields that FOG have available for launching and recovery. The club are very grateful to Steve for letting us use his farm.

The airspace above the site is Class D with a base of 4000 ft AMSL.  By written mutual agreement with Cardiff and Bristol ATC we limit flights to 3000 ft AGL to give a clear buffer zone.  This allows some leeway for errors in prediction software and altimeter settings.

The fields are bordered mainly by low hedges and ditches.  When retrieving rockets its possible to move between fields by using gates but there are quite a few railway sleepers placed across the drainage diches, particularly around the south eastern corner of the main field.  These provide useful shortcuts for anyone with a sense of balance.

FOG has produce a map of the range to help with the retrieval of rockets.  This can be downloaded HERE.  Please use the paths, bridges and gates shown on the map and avoid climbing fences or gates.  When moving around the farm take care not to disturb the livestock.
